Since the 17th Century The Sun has been welcoming guests from all over the world. Our 4-star rated (English Tourist Board), sixteen bedrooms offer the best in boutique, luxury accommodation. All rooms are subtly understated with Italian en-suite bathrooms, flat screen televisions, over sized beds and designer fittings. As befits a 300 year old building each one is unique and we have made the most of every little idiosyncrasy.

Ideally situated in the heart of Lancaster’s city centre our rooms are perfect for a simple visit to the city, an urban retreat or base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and Lake District. Away from any major roads, throughways and late-night bars, a good night’s sleep without sacrificing the ease of being in the town centre can be found here at The Sun. Guest’s have 24-hour access so no need to worry about a curfew.

We have something to suit everyone from functional Standard rooms; to our more spacious Executive double rooms or Twins. All rates are per room rather than per person and include our full English breakfast cooked fresh to your order. Served until a civilised 10.30am during the week and 11am at weekends we welcome both residents and visitors.

Check-in is any time after 3pm and check out is 11am. We are more than happy to store any luggage if you arrive early or plan to leave Lancaster later than our check out time.

Our online booking system allows you to explore availability for all our rooms and to book online. We do not take any money off your credit/debit card until you arrive though we do require payment details as security.
